What’s in a name? (and the story of a town that sounds like a superhero movie)
Named after our home in Copperopolis (though we’re not really into comics, it’s always sounded to us like a city name that you’d find in Clark Kent’s universe), Copper Soap Works is nestled in the heart of the Sierra Nevada Foothills in California. Surrounded by rolling hills dotted with oak trees as far as the eye can see, it is a place of raw natural beauty. This landscape provides us with daily inspiration in the creation of our soaps and skin care products.

Claudia is a retired wedding & portrait photographer turned soaper. She learned from an artisan in nearby Sacramento who comes from a long family line of soap makers.
Claudia's spent countless hours since studying the craft and is a member of the Handcrafted Soap & Cosmetic Guild.
Whenever a spare moment can be found, you'll find her in the mountains, hiking, camping or kayaking with her husband James & beloved pup, Clyde.
James
Chief Logistics Officer
Computer programmer by trade, James is the muscle behind the brand. Day in and day out, he tirelessly hefts 50+ pound buckets & boxes of oils & butters. Loading and unloading, setting up and breaking down at all our events, we truly couldn’t do what we do without him.
When not watching football, you’ll find him out in nature hiking with his BFF Clyde.

When not eating or napping, he keeps a watchful eye over your orders and makes sure every single soap exceeds his high standards and is sent out faster than you can say biscuit.
